The Great Escape

Here's the last piece from my 1995 portfolio. I've put up all of this work because I never am able to see the work that gets an illustrator his or her first professional job. Once someone has publsihed a book or two, that becomes the current portfolio. I hope that these drawings will be helpful for someone who is just starting out.

The train in this drawing is based on a steam engine that had been abandoned on waterside of Kent Avenue in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. It was there in 1988 when I moved there, and was dismantled and carted away a few years later.
